"As from 9 January, the transitional period will also end for those sanctioned goods for which supply contracts were concluded before 7 October. From Monday, it is prohibited to bring from Russia a number of consumer goods, including cosmetics, washing and cleaning products, clothes, footwear, etc. for both private and legal persons,” said Piret Tinkus, head of the prohibitions and restrictions division of the customs security area at the customs department of the Tax and Customs Board.
The Tax and Customs Board asks all travellers to carefully examine the list of prohibited goods before crossing the border, as prohibited items must be returned or abandoned by the traveller on the border, otherwise they are confiscated.
The prohibited goods include, for example:
- cigars, cigarillos, cigarettes;
- iron and steel products;
- cosmetics and products for use on the hair (e.g. shampoos);
- oral care products (e.g. toothpaste, dental floss);
- shaving products, including pre-shave and aftershave products;
- washing and cleaning agents (e.g. soaps);
- various plastic products: packing materials, pipes, tubes, hoses, building material;
- various paper products: paper, cardboard, packing materials;
- women's or girls' clothes;
- footwear;
- building stones;
- tools;
- various engines and pumps;
- refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers;
- various electrical devices and details;
- motor vehicles and tractors;
- photographic instruments.
