If you move to Estonia from a country outside the European Union (EU) or move from Estonia to a country outside the EU, you must complete certain customs formalities.

If a private individual from a country outside the EU wishes to settle in the EU (but not in Estonia), arrives at the Estonian border and wishes to transport goods to another Member State (country of relocation) as their property, then the goods must be transported to another Member State using a transit procedure.

People, who move to Estonia from a country outside of the European Union (EU) due to a change of residence, marriage or temporarily for studying in Estonia, can import their personal belongings without paying import duties if certain conditions are met.
