Options for logging in to e-Tax/e-Customs

From 3 May 2019, it will no longer be possible to log in to the e-Tax/e-Customs using a code card issued by the Estonian Tax and Customs Board.

Going forward, it will be possible to enter using means of authentication – ID card, Mobile-ID or Smart-ID – that are significantly more secure than a code card. The Smart-ID solution will be added from 10 May 2019, also for the citizens of Latvia and Lithuania. It will continue to be possible to enter also via a bank link, using the means of authentication accepted by banks.

More information can be found here:

For non-residents, cross-border authentication (eIDAS) will be added. From 18 September 2018, it will be mandatory to recognise any notified electronic IDs of the relevant level from other EU Member States, and all those EU residents will have to be provided with access to the e-services provided by the public sector on conditions equivalent to those for the residents of Estonia.
