On the 5th of October tax and IT specialists will be gathering at the conference „SmartEST Taxation“ in Tallinn to discuss the next-generation smart and secure e-services and how tax data collected can be reflected back to businesses. The conference will also be livestreamed.

The speakers of the conference share their thoughts on IT and service design – how  convenient e-services could help to better collect taxes and whether it is possible to guide people in using these services. They also discuss how at the same time to ensure data security and use the tax data already available to predict and assess the impact of political choices and communicating data back to taxpayers.

The conference also introduces a pilot project carried out by the Estonian Tax and Customs Board (ETCB) and the University of Tartu, aimed at assessing whether and how it is possible to predict and respond to different situations in the economy on the basis of the available data. Discussions on the project and a new ETCB service, which is based on reflecting tax data, can be heard in the second half of the day.

Conference livestream starts at 9.15 a.m. (CET) and is available here: https://www.eu2017.ee/videos/e-taxation-conference-smartest-taxation
